In a resounding victory for President Bola Tinubu, the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) upheld his triumph in the February 25 presidential election. This verdict, according to Mr. Jimi Odimayo, a distinguished member of the House of Representatives representing Ondo State, reflects the widespread support that Tinubu enjoys among the majority of Nigerians.
Odimayo, who represents the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, urged the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi respectively, to set aside their petitions and join hands with President Tinubu in the task of rebuilding Nigeria.
In a statement released through his media office on Saturday, the federal lawmaker stated, "I want to encourage the candidates of the PDP, Abubakar Atiku, and the Labour Party, Peter Obi, to join hands with the president in the interest of the nation and to achieve the renewed hope agenda."
Odimayo further emphasized the significance of the court's decision, asserting, "This verdict from the court validates the mandate bestowed upon the President to deliver the Renewed Hope Agenda to the people of Nigeria, setting our country on the path of growth and prosperity."
He commended President Tinubu for his prompt actions in bolstering the economy and empowering Nigerian citizens, while extending his congratulations on the well-deserved victory in the PEPT.
"Our democracy has been enriched, and the right of Nigerians to freely elect leaders of their choice has been upheld. All issues were meticulously examined and resolved in accordance with relevant laws. This judgment is a triumph of truth," affirmed the lawmaker.
