The Ika South chapter of Nigerian Women for Tinubu, Shettima and Sheriff 2027, Delta State Chapter, has commenced grassroots mobilisation and sensitization ahead of the 2027 general elections, with a call on women and political stakeholders across the wards in the local government area to unite and support the political agenda of the group.
The Coordinator of the organisation in Ika South, Mrs. Bienose Nneka Love, made the call on Wednesday morning while addressing journalists during a media briefing.
Mrs. Bienose urged members and supporters of the organisation across the various wards in Ika South to intensify their grassroots engagement and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
She said the group was determined to build a strong network of women across the local government area and ensure that its message reaches communities, families and other grassroots stakeholders.
According to her, women occupy an important position in political mobilisation because of their strong presence in communities and their direct interaction with families and grassroots residents.
She therefore called on women in all the wards of Ika South to identify with the organisation and participate actively in its programmes and mobilisation activities.
Mrs. Bienose said the organisation's campaign would focus on reaching the grassroots, engaging women and creating awareness about the political objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 general election.
She appealed to ward coordinators, women leaders and other members of the organisation to work together and ensure effective coordination of activities across the local government.
"I am calling on all the wards across Ika South to come together and support the Nigerian Women for Tinubu, Shettima and Sheriff 2027. We need unity, commitment and proper grassroots mobilisation to achieve our objectives,” she said.
She said the organisation would continue its mobilisation activities in the coming months, with particular emphasis on reaching women at the grassroots and encouraging them to participate actively in the democratic process.
She concluded by urging women across Ika South to remain united, organised and committed to the group's 2027 political mobilisation agenda.
