Ughelli South, September 15, 2025** - The Chief of Staff to Senator Ede Dafinone, Olorogun Barr. Adelabu Bodjor, has praised the Senator's outstanding performance, asserting that he deserves a second term in office. Bodjor made this statement during a recent meeting with the newly established Ughelli South Political Colonels (USPC) in his home in Ekakpamre.
Bodjor emphasized that Dafinone has revolutionized political representation by focusing on empowering constituents through education rather than merely providing handouts. He noted that Dafinone's approach is aimed at fostering self-sufficiency among the people.
“The man started the job, and he has not even gone halfway. He has improved the political lives of Delta Central,” Bodjor stated. He believes that giving Dafinone another opportunity will enable him to build on the strong foundation he has already laid.
Highlighting the Senator’s commitment to human capital development, Bodjor remarked, “He is bringing out many Urhobo men and women from all walks of life, teaching everyone the reason why we must help ourselves.” This focus on self-reliance, according to Bodjor, is key to transforming the economy of Delta Central.
Bodjor further emphasized that this new approach is not about handing out fish but teaching people how to fish, which he believes will lead to economic prosperity in the region. “If he can teach as many people as he can to catch fish, the economy of Delta Central will experience a turnaround,” he explained.
The Ughelli South Political Colonels, led by Chairman Olorogun John Ewenede, expressed their intention to mobilize support for both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 elections. Ewenede acknowledged Bodjor's significant role in the APC, highlighting the need for unity among party leaders.
In response, Bodjor encouraged the group to broaden their focus beyond just supporting the President and Governor. “I want you guys to expand your coast,” he urged, stressing the importance of backing all APC candidates in the upcoming elections.
Bodjor also expressed gratitude for the unity between the APC and the former PDP in the state, praising the peaceful nature of this political transition. He believes this collaboration will strengthen their chances in the 2027 elections.
The meeting concluded with Bodjor offering his support to the USPC, reinforcing the need for a united front in Ughelli South to achieve their political goals. Members from all 11 wards in the local government area were present, signaling strong grassroots support for the initiatives discussed.
