Delta Education Board Stands Firm on Teacher Transfers Amidst Controversy

The Delta State Post Primary Education Board (PPEB) has reaffirmed its decision regarding the Supplementary Posting and Transfer of staff, set to take place this weekend, September 13, 2025. This move is intended to facilitate the transition of affected personnel to their new duty posts by Monday, September 15, 2025.

Dr. Emmanuel U. Tibi, the Executive Chairman of PPEB, issued a circular addressing the situation, which has drawn attention due to conflicting directives from the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu. 

In his circular, Dr. Tibi emphasized the authority of the PPEB in matters related to staff posting, transfer, and discipline. He stated that such decisions can only be made by the Board itself and cannot be overridden by external influences. 

The essence of Dr. Tibi’s message is clear: the posting and transfer process conducted by the PPEB is valid and must be respected. He urged all relevant parties to comply with the directives issued on September 13, 2025. 

This assertion comes in light of Mrs. Ezewu’s recent communication, which attempted to reverse the Board’s earlier decision. Her circular, dated September 14, 2025, outlined a cancellation of the supplementary postings, instructing all affected staff to return to their original assignments.

Ezewu’s directive has raised eyebrows, as it seemingly contradicts the established procedures of the PPEB. She warned that failure to comply with her instructions would result in disciplinary action for both principals and staff members.
