The Nigeria Police Force, Sapele Division, hosted a memorable send-forth ceremony for their outgoing Divisional Police Officer (DPO), ACP Musiliu Olasunkanmi Alade, following his recent promotion from Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). His elevation marks the end of his tenure in Sapele as he prepares for a higher role within the force.
The event, held on Wednesday at the Sapele Division, attracted dignitaries such as Sapele Council Chairman Chief Bright Abeke, Sapele Okpe Community Chairman Chief Onoriode Temiagin and his entourage, business leaders, and representatives from various security agencies within and beyond Sapele.
Expressing his gratitude, ACP Alade acknowledged the overwhelming support he received. “I never expected this level of honor. The presence of the Local Government Chairman, traditional leaders, religious figures, and community members makes this my happiest day,” he said.
ACP Innocent Umerie, the Sapele Area Commander, commended Alade’s dedication. “We are proud of ACP Musiliu Alade. This is just the beginning of greater things for him. I hope to see him rise even further,” he remarked.
Senior police officer DCO 2 Stephen Ukoba praised Alade’s impact, highlighting a significant drop in crime during his tenure due to his strong collaboration with local security outfits. Similarly, vigilante leader Mr. Felix Oboh credited Alade for fostering effective partnerships between law enforcement agencies.
Madam Grace Edafe, a trader at the Sapele main market, shared how Alade’s fair approach to justice earned him respect among residents. “He always ensured suspects were properly interrogated and released if found innocent. He will be missed,” she said.
The celebration ended with music, food, and the presentation of gifts as attendees took turns congratulating ACP Alade and wishing him success in his future endeavors.
