Senator Ede Dafinone, representing the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District in the red chamber, has extended warm congratulations to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and all Deltans as the state celebrates 34 years since its creation, describing the anniversary as both a time of celebration and reflection.
In a goodwill message issued to commemorate the milestone, Senator Dafinone highlighted the progress the state has made since its establishment in 1991. He noted that Delta has grown steadily in unity, peace, and development, underscoring the resilience and shared vision of its people.
“The 34th anniversary is not only a moment of celebration but also of reflection on our collective journey as a people since 1991,” he said. “Delta State has recorded remarkable progress in peace, unity, and development, and I firmly believe that our best years are still ahead.”
Commending Governor Oborevwori for his leadership, Dafinone praised the administration’s commitment to delivering on the "Renewed Hope for More" agenda. He emphasized that the governor's people-oriented initiatives are laying the foundation for a more inclusive and prosperous future for the state.
“I commend Governor Oborevwori for his dedication and commitment to the advancement of our state,” the senator stated. “I urge all Deltans to remain positive and continue to support the Governor in delivering on his programmes and projects aimed at improving the lives of the people.”
The lawmaker also called on citizens to uphold the values that have united the state over the decades—resilience, unity, and mutual respect—stressing that these principles are essential to the continued growth and stability of Delta.
As the state marks this significant milestone, Senator Dafinone reaffirmed his belief in a brighter future for Delta, calling on both residents and those in the diaspora to remain committed to the collective vision of a state built on justice, peace, and sustainable development.
