In a remarkable ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of Promise Kingdom Ministries, His Royal Eminence Archbishop Godday Iboyi, JP, the Founder and General Overseer of the Overflow Chapel in Sapele, Delta State, delivered a powerful message calling on Christians to embrace love, forgiveness, and soul-winning. The convention themed “Righteousness” highlighted the critical role of living a just and holy life in attracting divine blessings and favor from God.
During his enlightening sermon titled "What is Expected of Us by God After the Convention Part 2," Archbishop Iboyi articulated three fundamental practices believers must follow: total obedience to God's will, submission to church authority, and the importance of godly behavior. He emphasized that genuine obedience is the key that unlocks God’s prosperity in the lives of believers, urging congregants to embody a sheep-like humility.
The Archbishop pointed out the urgent need for churches to desist from preaching prosperity messages toward emphasizing the Gospel of salvation. By focusing on salvation, he believes that the church can better fulfill its mission of bringing more souls into the Kingdom of God, fulfilling the divine calling of every believer.
In a stirring address to reporters following the event, Archbishop Iboyi expressed immense gratitude for God’s unwavering guidance throughout the 25 years of ministry. He reflected on the journey since 2000, sharing that God has been instrumental in expanding their outreach. During the anniversary celebration, over 100 ministers were ordained, including Reverends, Pastors, Evangelists, Deacons, and Deaconesses, all committed to winning souls and spreading the Gospel.
“God is the Chief Founder of this Great Commission, and I give Him all the glory,” he declared, reminiscing on the ministry's humble beginnings and its remarkable growth into a thriving community of faith. The event witnessed hundreds of attendees recommitting their lives to Christ, a testament to the transformative power of faith and the compelling message of hope.
Archbishop Iboyi’s appeal resonated deeply as he encouraged believers to exhibit patience and humility while preaching the Gospel. He reinforced the importance of sharing the messages God wants people to hear, urging the congregation to be vessels of divine truth in a world in need of spiritual guidance.
In closing, the Archbishop extended heartfelt thanks to the Orodje of Okpe kingdom, his royal majesty Major General Felix Mujakperuo and the state governor His exelency Honorable Sheriff Oborevwori and pastors from Niger and Edo States for their relentless dedication to the Gospel. He called on everyone to pray for peace across Nigeria, Delta State, and Okpe Kingdom, reinforcing a message of unity and hope as they look to the future with great expectation.
