Esteem news

Hon. Bright Abeke, Chairman of Sapele Local Government Area in Delta State, has reportedly regained his freedom after spending ten days in captivity. The development has sparked widespread relief among residents and well-wishers in Sapele and its environs, following days of anxiety and uncertainty.

According to emerging reports, Abeke confirmed his release through a phone call to members of his community. The call, which was said to have reached key stakeholders, conveyed that he was no longer in the custody of the kidnappers.

While the news of his freedom is being celebrated, Abeke is yet to physically reunite with his people. Community members, however, say the confirmation of his release has already brought comfort to families who had feared the worst during his disappearance.

Residents and political associates alike have continued to express gratitude to God and renewed calls for calm, as hopes remain high that the chairman will soon return safely and resume normal community activities.

At the time of this report, details surrounding how Abeke was released remain unclear. It is not yet known whether negotiations were involved, or if the abductors voluntarily freed him after holding him for ten days.

Security analysts and community sources have also urged patience as further information is expected to emerge from relevant authorities. Many believe that more facts about the circumstances of his release may be disclosed as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, the incident has again brought the issue of kidnapping and armed attacks to the front burner in the region. Several residents have called for stronger security measures to prevent future occurrences and protect public officials.

Supporters of Abeke have also maintained that they will continue to stand with him, emphasizing that the focus now should be on his safety, wellbeing, and full return to his duties once he reunites with his community.

As the story develops, more updates are expected on the next steps following his release, including whether he sustained any injuries during captivity and what actions will be taken by relevant agencies.

In the meantime, Sapele remains a hub of prayers, relief, and renewed hope, as community members await the moment Hon. Bright Abeke will finally return home in person.
