Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has extended his congratulations to Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, on his election as Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria. The governor, through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, expressed his gratitude to the Speakers' Conference for their confidence in Rt. Hon. Guwor.
Governor Oborevwori, who previously held the positions of Treasurer and Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Speakers, commended Speaker Guwor for following in his footsteps and bringing honor and glory to Delta State. Additionally, the governor congratulated Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin Adebo, Speaker of Oyo State, and Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya, Speaker of Katsina State, on their respective appointments as Chairman and Deputy Chairman.
In his message, Governor Oborevwori urged the presiding officers of state legislatures to embrace their roles as a call to service rather than being served. He emphasized the importance of diligently serving the Nigerian people, particularly during these challenging times of economic strain. The governor concluded by expressing his prayers and those of the government and people of Delta State, wishing all the elected officers wisdom and understanding in their crucial task of nation-building.
